Wight

"The wight was surrounded on three sides, grasping its ancient longsword with both hands and gazing balefully at its living foes. Suddenly, it lunged towards Manheim. It swung twice with unnatural speed, but Manheim parried the first. But the second, backhand slash landed across his neck. The former inquisitor's head landed 10 feet away, staining the snow a deep red as his comrades looked on in horror."   A wight, known in the north as a draugr, is a type of hateful, sentient undead. Fallen warriors raised by necromancers and imbued with free will, they make up the elite core of undead armies. They make dangerous foes, for they are burdened by neither fatigue nor pain, yet are as well armed and cunning as a veteran soldier.   During the the War of the Broken Crypt, wights formed the core of the forces of Sanguine. They were a mix of long-dead dwarves and buried warriors of the Empire, raised in the years leading up to the War and hidden within the ancient halls of Tznchundel.   Some wights rose to positions of power within the forces of Sanguine. Beron the Red, a former inquisitor and enemy of St. Noro, commanded an army sent to seize Grinstead.
