The Wheel

The Wheel is a metaphysical concept in Dualism. Followers of Kelemvor and Lathandar believe that souls return to the Wheel upon death, and are judged by Kelemvor. After spending time in various afterlives, these souls are reincarnated by Lathandar. 

The Wheel generally refers to all of the time spent by a soul after death. However, souls can be trapped on the mortal plane in vessels both of flesh (undead) and of inorganic matter (constructs). The idea of being trapped in a vessel is considered profane by all worshippers of Kelemvor.

Some scholars believe that the Wheel refers to the entire lifecycle of a soul, and that time on the mortal plane is only a small part of the Wheel. This is generally a matter of obscure theological debate.
