The Martikov family are an old clan that owns by far the largest business in Barovia - the Wizard of Wines winery. Unbeknownst to all but a few, they also head the network of anti-Strahd informants known as the Keepers of the Feather: an ancient organization dating back to around the time of the conquest centuries ago.
Long ago, the Martikov family was given three gemstones, which legend told was a gift from an ancient wizard. These gemstones bestow the area around the winery with unnatural fertility, allowing fine wine grapes to be grown in the otherwise cold latitudes of Barovia. Unbeknownst to the Martikov family, they were actually given them by the Ladies Three, ancient spirits of the land, and this fact only came to light with the arrival of outlanders challenging Strahd, who enlisted the help of the Keepers in exchange for retrieving missing gems. 
Davian Martikov
Davian is the patriarch of the Martikov dynasty. Old and ornery, he runs the Wizard of Wines with an iron fist, but is good at heart. His wariness comes from long decades battling with the Strahd-worshipping Forest Folk, and from his belief that his son, Urwin, lost one of his precious gemstones.

Adrian Martikov
Adrian is the long-suffering eldest son of Davian. He is the one most involved in the day to day business of running the Winery, and also puts up with his father's ornery behavior. Recently, he has become much taken with the pipeweed of the halflings, using it to relax on many occasions.

The Martikovs of Vallaki 
Urwin Martikov
Years ago, Davian banished his son Urwin to Vallaki for the crime of losing one of the family's precious gemstones. Urwin now runs the Blue Water Inn, the principal watering hole of Vallaki and one of the only hospitable places in that town. Urwin is friendly to a fault, bordering on bumbling, and most of the real work in running the inn is done by his sharp wife, Danika. Urwin busies himself cooking in the back most days.

Danika Martikov
Danika is the sharp bartender and co-proprietress of the Blue Water. The wife of Urwin, she trades in both wine and information, being an important power-broker in Vallaki. She is clever and cunning - traits that have helped her survive and thrive in the unforgiving environment of Vallaki.
