Talorne: Realm of the Horse Lords

The sparsely wooded plain of Talorne makes up the southern borderland of Lumeris. The militaristic rulers of this kingdom are the finest horsemen in the world. The steeds - the Kelyth - bred in Talorne are indeed unlike any other. Kelytha are not normal horses, for they are nearly as long-lived as their riders, and far more intelligent than regular horses. This facilitates a degree of connection between horse and rider impossible elsewhere. Kelyth riders bond for life, and the loss of a steed has caused many a high elf to fall into a black depression. Though Kelyth riders will only join battle under the direst of circumstances, legends tell of riders accomplishing the impossible: firing sprays of arrows while standing on a galloping horse, jumping over shield walls, and dodging crossbow bolts.
