Talador: Realm of the Holy

Talador is a large kingdom consisting of foreboding pine forests interspersed among lakes and rocky cliffs. The haughtiness and pride of the high elves is taken to extreme heights here, for the Taladorians believe themselves blessed by the Gods. The land is covered in churches, temples, and fortress monasteries, and the sounds of chanting priestesses echoes among the trees. Other Eldar are divided into two camps regarding the Taladori. Most working class folk believe them to be a blessed people whose prayers protect the land from evil and ensure that Andar brings forth the sun. Upper class individuals tend to regard the Taladori as a pretentious lot - a serious insult indeed coming from an already pretentious culture.
Regardless, the innumerable temples dotting Talador bring in a substantial revenue from pilgrimages and donations that ensures they are held in high regard by the ruling Great House.
