Pukka
"A Puke ye say? Well the only thing around here that'll be puking is that furry bastard, when I beat the guts out o' it!"
- enraged woodsman, Grinstead
Pukkae, one of the more common types of relicts, are a fey-like creature inhabiting dense forests. Appearing as a cross between a lanky human, a lynx and a bat, they have large, dish-like eyes that allow them to see perfectly in the dark, long ears, a prehensile tail, and long arms, perfect for throwing.
Living in the boughs of tall trees, they hunt by dropping rocks and other heavy objects on animals and passersby, which they do with gusto. They are mischievous but flighty by nature, generally shying away from human settlements. However, they do have a great affinity for shiny objects and trinkets, and their nests are often full of coppers, scraps of metal, twine, and other various stolen knick-knacks. Pukkae are about as intelligent as a toddler, and are capable of imitating human speech. Despite their intelligence and fear of humans, they are widely regarded as nuisances, and common targets of monster-hunts by folk living in the Greatwood, Rhudaria, and elsewhere.
