Eormund and the Celestial Spheres
The Celestial Spheres

On Erden and Eormund
The world we inhabit is known by many names; among our people it is called Erden, Eormund or Jormund. Among the elves, it is called Thera. But what exactly is Eormund?
The landmass of which all our history takes place is, confusingly, also called Erden, but there is at least one other continent. To the south lies the dry continent of Goriad, home of the Paxtrians and other strange peoples. Properly, the term Eormund refers to the celestial body that contains Erden, Goriad, and the great oceans, but in lay-speech, Erden is often used to describe this concept. For clarity, we will refer to the celestial body as Eormund, and the continent as Erden.
On the Solar Bodies
Astronomers have long known that within the greater celestial sphere containing Eormund lie other bodies, all of which orbit around Eormund. The two greatest are the sun, Lumen, and the moon, Kaelen. Though many false beliefs surround these bodies, it is well known that the sun and moon are representations of two eyes of Tyr gazing at us from the Overhall. A third, pebble-shaped body, Lannen, takes a wide and irregular path around Eormund, at times appearing about one twentieth the size of Kaelan, at other times appearing as a bright star.
On the Planetary Bodies
A number of other planetary bodies orbit around Eormund. These include the three Valkyries: Enya, Friga, and Valka, as well as the Winter-Witch, Sangvar, and the Cold-Devil, Mulnir.
The order of the planetary bodies in relation to Eormund is as follows: Eormund, Kaelen, Lannen, Lumen, Enya, Friga, Valka, Sangvar, and Mulnir.
On Heretical Beliefs
A number of heretical texts, mostly written by elves, posit that Eormund actually rotates around the sun. This is clearly false, as any lay person could attest, and as was proven by Godrick of Dimmervald in his 3rd century thesis.
