Elven Sasau
Sasau, referred to by the humans of the Barrowmere as "Elven Sasau", was a ghettoized community outside of the great city of Carovin. Since Valmer culture was greatly frowned upon in the city, the elves made their own settlement near the Middengate, sprawled along the beautiful Barrowmere lake.
Sasau was a place of tranquil beauty, an idyllic fishing town far removed from the brutal life of the Imperial peasantry. The elves there lived well: reaping the lake's bounty, producing fine mead, and making beautiful carvings and tapestries. Sasau possessed a Weirtree, a shrine to Kelemvor, and a famous inn - the Flying Pike. The war chief there, Fiora Rendellion, ruled the Valmer sternly, and ensured that Imperial taxes were always paid on time.
But the Valmer of Sasau were often harried by bigoted humans from the city. Captain Holger Hawthorne of Carsgarde was the latest in a long line of despised guard captains ruling from the nearby Fort Kollitz. Holger confiscated the fishing fleet of Sasau in retaliation for an alleged attack on human fisherman. It was only after the champions of Carsgarde intervened that the elves were found innocent. But the Champions had left a sour impression on the people of Sasau, for it was later alleged that in helping Brother Aidan clear the Shrine of St. Niranil of monsters, they had plundered and desecrated the ancient elven tombs there, a grievous sin against Kelemvor.
Unfortunately, Sasau lie directly in the path of the marauding undead Scourge. When they fell upon Carovin, the Champions of Carsgarde saw Sasau burn with their own eyes. The fate of the survivors, if any exist, is unknown.
