Chancellor Cerula Delreyn

Cerula Delreyn is a mysterious figure in the Empire who comes to the forefront in times of crisis. She is a scholar and adventurer who has been the Imperial Chancellor since the reign of Cardalos I. Hailing from a noble Valmer House in the metropolis of Velantir, she was educated at the College of Wizards in Amon. She became an expert in Holmgardian politics and published several important treatises before traveling to the capital to become a tutor for the nobility. At some point, she became the tutor of Cardalos I. Little else is known about her early career, but records state that she was appointed to Chancellor in the mid 630s, a position that was created specifically for her. During War of the Three Emperors, she commanded elven auxiliaries on the battlefield and helped defeat Rhuduar , a xenophobic claimant to the Imperial throne.

Chancellor Delreyn has survived many assassination attempts over her 50 + years of service, and has proven indispensable to the Empire's survival. Though she has no official role aside from presiding over the Witan, she acts as the principal Imperial advisor. Delreyn is highly unpopular among the Inquisition, though her personal favor with the Emperors spared her from persecution.

Personally, she is a stern, wise, and even-handed woman. She has an uncanny ability to balance the competing factions in the realm along with an unwavering faith in Tyr: traits that have likely saved her from execution.
