Sitari's bones

After almost half hour of climbing, they reached the top of the hill. Below, a wide plain of endless grass was spread, full of life. And money.   "Look at that", said Stil. "Do you think we can rebuild our city with that?"   "We can rebuild it and build ten more", answered Mite.   For Mite, looking at the sitari herd was almost sad: they poor animals had no idea of what waited for them.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Sitari's bones look like common bones, except for the subtle orange coloration. Their skull has 4 horns, two then smaller than the others.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The bones of a sitari, due to the animal's organism, have a very great amount of tarnassilin, component made of the mineral Tarnass, found in places like Engoru Savanna. The tarnassilin, when mixed to metals, make them much easier to control magically, thus being a very important resource for metal mages.

Compounds

The main compound of tarnassilin is the mineral Tarnass.

Geology & Geography

Tarnassilin can be found at places with a good concentration of Tarnass, like Engoru Savanna and Fergrun. The difference between the two is that, in Fergrun, tarnassilite can be found in the form of crystals, while in Engoru it's mostly in the plants and animals organisms.

History & Usage

History

The magical properties of Sitari's bones were found by travelling researchers in the middle of the Magic Decay Era. The first to reach them were The Silver Eye, who tried to unsuccessfully monopolize the resource. Soon, many groups and political units started to explore it, bringing the period called "Magic Renovation Era".   But the extensive hunt reduced drastically the Sitari population. Sensing the end of the Sitaris, the Silver Eye tried many things to make as much profit as was possible of the situation: manipulating the market, putting different groups against each other, stealing and even keeping their own Sitari herd in a secret location.   The end of the Sitaris, however, was inevitable, and now their bones are sold by values so exorbitant that only the richest of the richest can pay.

Everyday use

The most common of Sitari's bones are in tools and weaponry. In the peak of the Magic Renoval Era, entire armies of mages were armed with tarnassilin-composed swords and shields.

Environmental Impact

The main impact of the Sitari's bones exploration was, obviously, the extinction of the Sitaris.
