Yugoloths

After their defeat in the First GodsWar , the Demons were banished to the far places of the world and forbidden from ever returning. Still wishing to influence events in the surface world, but unable to send even lesser demons to their bidding, some of the Demon Princes came together under the leadership of Mastiphal and created the Yugoloths, sometimes known as daemons.
Unlike the demons, these created Yugoloths are able to travel between the realms of their demon overlords and the lands of mortals. They are few in number and usually avoid civilised lands. But they are powerful. They are also rather more independently minded than Mastiphal and the other demon lords had intended. Indeed, more than a few Yugoloths have left the service of the Demons and sought out new lords to serve, or have even struck out on their own.
Possibly as a result of their demonic origins, Yugoloths come in many different forms. That said, scholars have identified particular breeds of yugoloth. Not all yugoloths belong to these breeds - some are entirely unique in appearance - but seemingly some yugoloths physically resemble others of the same breed. Arcanaloths resemble a cross between a human and a jackal in their native form, but are adept at shapechanging. Mezzoloths are human-sized upright insectoids who often serve their masters as soldiers. Nycaloths are immensely strong winged and horned creatures resembling some of the fiercer demons. Ultroloths are schemers and commanders, possessed of powerul mind magics. They resemble slender grey-skinned humanoids, with no facial features save for two glowing, hypnotic eyes.
