The Horror

Human legends hold that men fled the western continent of Umesh to escape a terrible horror. This was the Great Migration . The nature of that horror has been forgotten, except for one detail - it apparently affected people's minds such that different people saw it differently.
Sages still speculate on just what the Horror may have been.
