Ishbahel
Emperor of the The Old Empire and King of Mitland during the later stages of The War of the Elves and the Giants.
Ishbahel succeeded his father Nathah after Nathah was slain in an attack on Giantskeep. He continued the 'Hidden War' policy of his father, but pushed for greater use of magic in the war.
Perhaps Ishbahel's most important decision was to invite those humans coming into Ettrea across the Atlan Mountains as part of the Great Migration to settle in the Empire as citizens. Most of those humans joined the war effort on the imperial side, and their numbers were to prove crucial in winning the war.
Ishbahel himself used the spell powers granted to him as Emperor by the Celestial Pantheon much more than previous emperors, but this took a toll and almost certainly contributed to his early death shortly after the end of the war.
