Adeling

A member of the royal house of one the kingdoms of the Empire  who has a place in the line of succession to that kingdom. In theory, only adelings may become Emperor / Empress. However, there have been two occasions when a candidate with no place in a kingly line of succession has been adopted by another adeling and subsequently been elected Emperor in Grand Conclave.
