The Hateful Eight were a group of adventures that overcame and quelled many evils and saved the world on one occasion before disappearing. Some became viewed as Saints and wielders of great power while others reside now in legend.
The Hateful Eight were renowned adventurers and protectors of the realm of Thalandor. Thier members were the holy knight, now saint, Gaius; a tabaxi spy master known as Ruby Nightwalker; a promising and powerful gith mage by the name of Gallin Knucklestamp , a human master of martial arts and weapon craft, Cuyler; and a wise and patient, tortle archdruid known as Gar. other figures associated with the Eight are Letstin Brighthammer, once a knight of Auros and now a dwarven lord of some renown; two magical practitioners by the names of Lucious and Geoffry; a tortle hermit and priest by the name of Varkahn; a loxadon warrior and brewmaster named Tusker; an expert thief known as Nug; and the master of lore at the bard's college who goes by Sam.
Together the Eight have undertaken many great challenges and harrowing adventures. They cleared out the forgotten temple of the Sunless Citadel of kobolds and goblins. They unearthed and secured the lost dwarven freehold of Kundrakar and were key in establishing a foothold there for the Brightmantle Consortium. They purged the forest of Valewood of a lycanthropic curse and an evil rot. The liberated the keep and village of Dawnstone of a demonic incursion. They exposed and eliminated eldritch influence within the court of Calenbrind. The felled a great dracolich within the eastern forest of Sylvanar. They sponsored the current King of Valdurshiem, and helped end a brutal civil war while helping avert one with the northern orc tribes and were key to securing an alliance between Thalandor and Valdurshiem. They found a cure for a deadly plague that blighted Thalandor and they ended the War of Fiery Wrath. Their last and perhaps greatest endeavor was that they went off to face a grave and unknown threat. It is understood that failure could mean the demise of the world. While the world has not ended yet it is believed they purchased success at the cost of their lives or perhaps wander somewhere still far off and away from this material plane.
All this they accomplished together and undertook many other quests separately. They inspired many other to be heroes and even served as the catalyst for the formation of an adventurers' guild based out of their former keep of Dawnstone.
