Personal history
Sylas and his wife were part of a group of upstart adventurers. They had grown tired of watching the local Countess, Grelod the Charitable, grow in power and cruelty, all while rumors spread about the dark rituals she performed deep within her manor. Sylas and his adventuring party uncovered whispers of a grand ritual Grelod was planning with two other hags from her coven, a ritual that promised to grant them immense power and render Grelod untouchable. Naively, Sylas and his group decided to intervene.
