Hexblood
Hexbloods are individuals infused with eldritch magic, fey energy, or mysterious witchcraft. Some who enter into bargains with hags gain their deepest wishes but eventually find themselves transformed. These changes evidence a hag’s influence: ears that split in forked points, skin in lurid shades, long hair that regrows if cut, and an irremovable living crown. Along with these marks, hexbloods manifest hag-like traits, such as dark vision, and various magical methods to beguile the senses. While many hexbloods gain their lineage after making a deal with a hag, others reveal their nature as they age—particularly if it influenced them early in life or before their birth.
Hexbloods can manifest from any other race and aside from the differences mentioned previously, they bear the physical qualities of thier origional race. They live about as long as thier origin race, not accounting for public predjudice, and mature about as fast. Hexbloods are viewed as ill omens and as such are often loners. Quite frequently they are shunned or exiled from civilized community. Many hexbloods turn to lives of adventure, seeking to discover the mysteries of their magic, forge a connection with their fey natures, or avoid a hag that obsesses over them.
It is hard to categorize Hexbloods among the plane-touched; while they are infused with fey magic, they are not entirely within the Faerine or Gloamling subset. Additionally, they differ from other plain-touched in that one does not necessarily have to be a hexblood from birth, much like other plane-touched. They also differ in that they are the only plane-touched that might possess the potential to return to thier parent species. Some scholars beleive a powerful coven of hags might be able to enact a ritual to "reverse" the hag's mark rendering a hexblood a "regular" mortal. Additionally, it is also beleived that becoming hexblood is the first step someone might take in transforming themselve into a hag or churl.
