Half-Elf

Not entirely beonging with humans or elves, Half elves are the product of a human and elf coupling. They have the daptability and sturdiness of humans and the longevity of elves. They phisically mature in the same way as humans but might not be considered an adult among the elves. They do gorw old living about 200-300 years and start showing signs of middleage around their first centurie and eventually grow grey in the hair and show wrinkles twilight years To humans they seem to be not much different from elves and to elves they are not that different from humans. Half-elves stand anywhere from five to six feet tall with some vairations depending on their elven parent and their skin tones tend to be a more subdued shade of thier elven parent. Thier eyes are slightly angel and can be a miryad of colors and hair debends on thier elven parentage. Half-elves can befound throughout the world and are raised in elven settlements for a time but rarely reside there for thier whole lives.

Biological Traits

All half-elves have the ability to see in the dark and have superior eysight over thier humna kin. Additionally. most half-elves live quite a long time and unlike thier elven parents, can grow facial hair. Aside from the traits all half-elves share there are key differences each one possess thats dependent on thier elf parents;

• Half-High Elf: Eyes are typically gold, silver, white, or that of thier human parent. Skin is a subdued gold or a more pale complexion and thier hair is typically light blonde and white. They can grow to six feet or even slightly taller. They share a portion of thier elven parents acuity for magic and can naturally cast some rudementary magic that manifests around puberty.
• Half-Wood Elf: Eyes tend more towards green and erathy brown tones. Thier skin can exhibit earthy tans browns and coppers and thier hair tends to be brown, black, or auburn. They stand anywhere between five and a half to six feet.They posses the light step of woodelves and can move quicker than most humans.
• Half-Drow: Eyes range from red to violet or that pf thier human parent. Thier skin is typically a subdued grey, blue, or violet and thier hey often appears as grey or white with some streaks of platinum or silver. The stand shorter than most topping out at about five and a half feet but are often broader due to thier human heritage. The posess a superior darkvision almost as powerful as thier parents and can develop the ability to work some of the same magics know naturally to most drow. Though rare they can form the same resistance drow have to poisons.

Naming Traditions

Half-elves often will have two names; One elven name given by thier elven parent and a "human" name. Thier human name is typically a shortend version of the elven name mostly to make it easier to pronounce.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Though some half-elves keep to elven cultural observances and customs most adhere to the local culture and norms of the places the choose to reside in.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Though often misunderstood by elves and humans and perhaps feeling out of place among either goup, half-elves are generally liked by most. Dwarves jokingly find thier human side an "improvement" on the elven form and will form long lasting rivalries and friendships. Gnomes find their mere exhistance interesting. Half-Elves dont typically cary the wieght of generational hatred of orc with them and can tolerate thier pressence. Dispite the size difference many half-elves find much in common with halflings particularly thier lack of some sort of ancestral home and propensity to wander.
