World of Eraterna

The Ciore Elves

The Ciore Elves have been shrouded in mystery for the majority of nations in Eraterna. Most have absolutely no clue that an entire subrace of elves lives deep in the South Eastern forests of Rayash. Their protectors, the Mellfeui Centaur, have kept secret their existence for many generations, and as such, their bond has been built stronger over the years. The Ciore Elves have a peculiar nature about them. With the The Diaspora of the Elves from Arvandor, the Ciore Elves, once mighty fighters for their god Correlon, found themselves in a strange and mystically natural place, the Feywild. Their time inhabiting the Feywild was a prosperous time, leading to wonderous advances in the Ciore culture, ideals, and even their physique. The Ciore Elves found themselves closely linked to the seasons and weather of the Feywild. Their skin would change based on the weather surrounding them and their powers felt more in line with the climate around them. As they grew in this way, the Ciore found that not only could the environment change their features, but the inverse effects could happen as well. A Ciore that lost their temper would notice that winds would pick up or that the earth may quake and someone that is happy or joyful would have flowers pop up along their walking paths. The Ciore have pursued these powers and learned that with enough practice their environment could be manipulated however they chose.

After a few generations in the Feywilds, the Ciore grew curious about what happened to their elven relatives in the Diaspora. Efforts were made to find out where their elven cousins were sent and if there were any possibilities of reaching them. The Feywild is scattered with relics of the past; ruins, ancient libraries, and other objects from civilizations long forgotten. A portal was found that was said to open up a pathway to and from a material world land, Eraterna. Some ancient writings found in the various libraries spoke of Eraterna and its description gave hope to the Ciore that some of their peoples could survive there. A project was created to first, rebuild and reopen the portal to Eraterna, travel to the strange new world, and eventually search for and hopefully find evidence of other elves lost to the Diaspora.

All things worked out fairly smoothly for the Ciore. Once on the world of Eraterna, the Ciore found themselves in a dense and secluded forest that stretched thousands of miles. Trails were made extending out from the portal on Eraterna in many directions. Eventually, the travelers made contact with an intelligent species, the centaur. The Ciore introduced themselves and extended a hand of peace to the horse-like people and it was graciously accepted. Inqueries were made about other elves living on this land and the centaur informed the Ciore of a great war being waged in a central island between two opposing groups of elves that has lasted many years. The descriptions sounded like the was of Correlon and Lloth had continued onto this world, creating hate and havoc justas it did on the home planet. They also recognised some of the names of the leaders in the conflict and realized that the war wasn't the only thing the same on Eraterna. The elves living on Eraterna had only been there for about one hundred years whereas the Ciore had been living in the Feywild for almost two millenia. The Ciore had then realized that they had not only been sent to a different world than their elven kin, but there had been thousands of years of time seperating their two experiences. All of these discoveries had led the Ciore to the conclusion that they should stay uninvolved with the conflict waging between the groups of elves on Eraterna. They had asked their new centaur friends if they could keep the elves existance a secret. The centaur agreed and a new lasting alliance was created.

The Ciore felt it was prudent that they should create a settlement around the portal to the Feywild and by doing this they could also have a finger on the pulse of the elven war. The centaur used their roving bands as a sort of patrol around the forest and had claimed that the forest was off limits to all outsiders. In echange for the protection and discretion, the Ciore offered up any goods and technologies they had that could help their new centaur friends. This mutually benificial arangement has lasted for many years and because of it the Cioren people have been able to live in and out of the Feywild in secrecy.
