Gnomes
Few peoples represent the spirit of invention and ingenuity quite like the Gnomes. Rock, Forest, and Deep Gnome all have minds made to change, twist, and create things in the world around them. With the seemingly random leak to the Realm of Order near them and the golden, almost mechanical depiction of their primary God, Garl, one has to wonder the true origin of the Gnomish people. Some say the Gnomes themselves were crafted by Garl in an attempt to create life, while others believe that Garl and the other Gods in the Gnome pantheon were looked upon favorably by Primus, the ruler of Mechanus. Primus then rose them up to become deities as a reward for their ability to work so effectively together. Whatever the case, Gnomes look to their various Gods for inspiration and work together as a community in almost all facets of their society.
Gnomes, in general, look at things in their world and try to find ways to tinker with them. Some may make great strides in mechanics and alchemy; others might find new ways to mine and search for materials to work with. Others focus on art, nature, and the unique way in which Gnome structures blend seamlessly in the world and nature. That last skill is typically attributed to why most Gnome cities are never found. Adventurers can walk through the forest, hills, and mountains the Gnomes dwell in and never realize an entire civilization surrounds them.
