World of Eraterna

Fairy

The Feywild is home to many fantastic peoples, including fairies. Fairies are a wee folk, but not nearly as much so as their pixie and sprite friends. The first fairies spoke Elvish, Goblin, or Sylvan, and encounters with human visitors prompted many of them to learn Common as well.

Infused with the magic of the Feywild, most fairies look like Small elves with insectile wings, but each fairy has a special physical characteristic that sets the fairy apart. For your fairy, roll on the Fey Characteristics table or choose an option from it. You're also free to come up with your own characteristic if none of the suggestions below fit your character.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character.

Fairy Civilizations

There are no recorded civilizations of Fairies present on Eraterna. Fairies originate on the Plane of the Feywild and the nature of Faires, Sprites, and Pixies allows them to conceal their homes both in the Feywild and on Eraterna very effectively from outsiders. Few Fairies leave their homes in search of adventure and as such not many will be found out on main roads. Though the call of adventure can strike anyone at any time, and a Fairy out questing can make a powerful and whimsical companion.

Fairy Characteristics

Many fairies have a special physical characteristic that sets them apart from other creatures of their kind. For your fairy, roll on the Fey Characteristic table or choose an option from it. The Feywild is a wild place, so come up with your own characteristic if none of these fit your character.

Racial Options

There are a few options to make your character fit the ideas you may have. The Ability Score Increase, Size, and even Languages can all be customized to better fit your character's history. Maybe you come from a very hardy people, like the Dwarves, but your character can't handle even the slightest cold breeze, but they make up for it with their incredible intellect. You could have been born of the tall and long Elves, but you find yourself barely coming up to some of their hips. Your Goblin may have been adopted by a couple of loving Genasi and they taught you to speak Primordial instead of Goblin. The options listed under your chosen race are just suggestions to easily fit your character within their culture's society, but you can change things up to make your character truly yours. There may be limitations set by the DM; rarely will you find a Large Fairy or a Tiny Goliath, but if you have a good story-driven reason for different character options, anything can be possible. Below are open-ended options for customizing your race.   Ability Score Increase. Increase one ability score by 2, and increase a different one by 1.
Size. Your size is within one size option of your race's average size.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character.
