Clan Sunburst

Clan Sunburst occupies the fields forests and mountains south of the Council Ary. While much of their vassals live in the warm temperate forests, the Dragon Lords perch high above in the mountains surveying their domains. Constantly in conflict with their southern Neighbors of Vermillion and Caerulean, they maintain a large standing military force. One of the more Martial Metallic Clans, Sunburst values skill of arms. While they admire the goal of the neighboring Council Ary, they believe that the Chromatic Dragons can never live up to such standards as they have constantly proven their malevolence for the world. As such they see themselves as the Shield of the Ary, weather Amaranthis desires such a shield or not.

Structure

Clan Sunburst follows a strict feudal structure where families are granted lands and territories in return for martial service. Vassal families hold their own martial standing in high esteem, contributing the greatest warriors to their Dragon Lords armies, winning tournaments proving their prowess, and being the first against the enemy, a sign of worthy of Valor. While the quieting shifted who held the seats of power, the Clan was quick to fill these power gaps, keeping up their general operation.

Culture

Sunburst holds ideals of Duty and Honor in high regard. While those who exhibit great martial prowess are held in the highest regard, they understand that armies do not march alone. Any who dedicated themselves to their talents are well respected from artists to entertainers to simple farmers. While strict feudal structures exist, the lowest among the clan have protections of person and property, strictly enforced within their legal codes.

Public Agenda

Clan Sunburst views itself as a strong protector of the Draconic ideal, their ideal. This causes them to be a very active member of the Council Ary, and usually an enemy of the chromatic clans and fervent detractors of any of their ideas or inputs. With the quieting of the gods, Sunburst sees threats from everywhere, fearing the Chromatic Clans will continue their war without their Dragon Lords sooner or later.

Clan Sunburst has fertile and forested temperate regions producing an abundance of resources from food, to animal products, and timber.

History

They clan have been active belligerents in all Dragon Wars, being the first to rise against the Red Dragon Clans that started the 1st Great War. In all subsequent conflicts clan Sunburst vassals and dragons have moved across Eraneth to do battle with the Chromatic clans and their supporters, they especially hate clan Vermillion.

Demography and Population

Sunburst were especially fond of Summer Elves and took many as vassals(55%), they also had a fondness for Halflings(20%), and have a fairly abundant half dragon population(25%). The Halflings find themselves content for many of the less martial and mundane tasks of the realm.

Agriculture & Industry

Clan Sunburst produces large quantities of grains, fruits, and other staple vegetables. They are also known for the raising of herd animals for consumption or work. Their forests also yield a vast amount of timber and other resources. While they do have some mountain domains, these lack many rich veins and instead provide a variety of stone and quarries.

Infrastructure

Clan Sunburst have an expansive network of roads and check points allowing for rapid movement through out their domain and connecting them to the Neighboring clans Amaranthis and Radiance.

• Skill at Arms: Members of the Clan may select a specific weapon type from the fighter list and gain proficiency with these weapons, if they already have proficiency they gain a +1 to hit and damage with these weapons.

Defensive Trait:

• Formation Fighters: Members of the Clan gain the Shield Wall teamwork feat for free.
