Arosi
The Arosi people, whilst divided into multitudes of tribes share a common history and a common pantheon. Erandis has not been kind to the Arosi people. AS the continent of Aros was born, tearing itself from Gavriel, the tribes of humans who would become the Arosi found themselves on a continent increasingly dominated by the Saarukh. The Saarukh took many of the Arosi as slaves and ritual sacrifices. Eventually breeding the hybrid race, the Yuan Ti, from enslaved Arosi humans.
The Arosi in the North who were able to hold onto their freedom developed skills and nourished bloodlines to give them an edge in combat against Goblinoid and Yuan Ti raids. The first of these was the use of the Heartsbane root to make the Hunters-bane potion, the potion needed to change an ordinary warrior into a "blood hunter". Second the Arosi of the far West learned to harness the power of shadows further, With powerful warriors choosing, instead of death by old age, to undergo a ritual where their soul was harvested and used during the forging of a weapon. These weapons and the warriors soul within becoming the source for numerous hexblades throughout Erandis's history.
Several tribes encouraged selective breeding within their community, resulting in a much higher number of sorcerers being born to the Arosi than any other people.
The Arosi people are currently divided between three states. 25% of their population live as second class citizens of the Ecclessian colonies, 35% living independently in the borderlands and 40% of their population living as slaves under the Xi'Yan empire
