Cult of the Spider
Overview
A former mortal who ascended to a higher state. She once was a powerful mage who in her hunt for power found a way to remain in existence forever. She attained a form of godhood. While she wasn't able to gain powers on the level of the Divine Rulers, she isn't bound by the limitations they are bound by. She still limits what she does in the world, so as to not draw the attention of the Divine Rulers. Her limited interactions, along with her former subjects, have still drawn the attention of mortals who have formed a cult surrounding her and worshipping her. They seek to follow her path and ascend to a higher plane of existence.Divine Origins
Once called Queen Hacce, the Spider Queen ruled a kingdom, now a province in the southern part in the Silician Empire, who's name has been lost to time.
As the Silician Empire pressed against the borders of her kingdom, she discovered a way to ascend. Seeing her ascend, her most dedicated assumed she was a goddess, forming the Cult of the Spider to venerate and worship her.
As the Empire took over, they tried to stamp out all cults and minor religions. As a result, the members of the cult scattered. They have continued to expand, being found throughout the Empire and large parts of the Northern Kingdoms. The largest concentration still is in the old land, surrounding the now abandoned former capital of the kingdom.
Tenets of Faith
Follow the ways of the Queen, and strive for power. How you strive for power doesn't matter, as long as you gain power. And the Queen always favours long term power. Anyone can ask the Queen for guidance or power, though she rarely responds. Only when one has enough power or has done something noteworthy will she respond.
Worship
There are no official ways of worshipping the Spider Queen. Follow the doctrine in your own way.
