Personal history

The daughter of a noble, Avila grew up playing the game of courts, and she learned to do it well. But it was never the power of the court that caught her interest, but knowledge. Any kind of knowledge. Growing up, she spent all her free time reading books of all kinds. She soon learned of the arcane and started to study it as well. Much of what she did in the courts was to gain more knowledge. Her family, however, didn't approve. Having tried to make her stop several times, they decided to get rid of her before, in their eyes, she brought shame to the family. They told her of great knowledge they had heard of on the Dread Isles. Avila was suspicious of their heel turn, but her lust for knowledge drove her to ignore it. It didn't take long before she was on her way to the Dread Isles. She quickly found her way to the Red Queen's court. With a bit of work, she managed to get herself into the court. Her knowledge got her the attention of a member of the court and soon she was given the Blood Kiss. Her sire didn't last too long however as he was killed by Lady Montegue as he was about to tell her about Lady Montegue's past. She is still trying to find out what he was going to tell her that day. She now moves about the court and does anything to gain greater knowledge.

Motivation

She wants knowledge. She wants to know everything there is. No knowledge is off-limits to her, regardless of who she has to sacrifice. She also seeks to know who Lady Montegue is and where she comes from.

She is full of herself but knows how to wear the mask of someone who cares about others. She tends to try to butter up her superiors. While she primarily cares about herself, there are a few she considers her friends, though it tends to be people who aren't a threat to her position, primarily Anja and Odila. She isn't sure about the two mortals, Rychara and Egon. In part because neither has accepted the Blood Kiss, which she sees as the greatest gift of them all. And in part, because she hasn't interacted with them enough. While Rychara has been there longer, she intends to approach Egon first.
