After succesfully bathing in the river and no longer smelling like shit, the party sets out to scout the village that they have reached.

While they aren't able to determine exactly how old the village is, they assume it burnt down atleast 50 years prior to their arrival.

In an attempt to find anything magical in the village, Reginald casts detect magic in the village's ruined temple with the intention of then walking around the village.

Walking around in the temple briefly, Reginald finds an illusioury wall behind a small pile of rubble. Behind this wall the party finds a chest, which after a little struggle to open, they find to contain a mysterous book they are unable to open.

There is also a stone tablet on a pedestal. The tablet is written in an unknown language and none of the party members can read it. They decide to take a frottage of the text and see if they can't find someone who understands it later.

In the corner of the room they find a ladder that leads down into an unknown cave system. All but Reginald descend the ladder. Reginald sends his familiar in his stead so that he may keep watch of the top of the ladder.

After walking through the cave system for a while, they find a large room with 2 pillars infront of another cave entrance. At this point Reginald descends the ladder to join them, but as he does, he hears someone drop something heavy over the opening and the light from it fades.

Catching up with the rest of the group, they find a large and very heavy metal door, which they are eventually able to push open.

Inside the hallway this door lead to, it is very warm, especially compared to the rest of the cave system, even more so compared to a normal cave. Walking further through the hall, they find the reason. A burst pipe in the roof is spewing a hot gas into the room.

Attempting to jump over it, Dhusia suffers near-fatal wounds, but manages to barely survive.

Orion uses the rowboat to get the rest of the party, including Reginald who has been wildshaped into an ape, through the gas with less dangerous damages.

They take about an hour to rest up before progressing further in. As they find another door, they push it open and are met with a massive open room which seems to be an ancient and abandoned city.
