Notes

The spies, Klassje, Jessie and Waltuh arrive at the North Quarter Pub and is given the very last updates on their mission before they set out to join the gala in Kessel.
Arriving early to the gala, they start chatting up the people there and get some baseline information. As they do this, Alaric appears on a stage and has a speech, before a musical number, after which, he declares the gala open.
A military parade takes place, the houses show up with a varying amount of troops in their parade with the exception of house Berdantion which has only the old kingsguard member Ryam Throne and house Vespatia, which has a sizable army with some very unconventional units, but this is still only a part of the army Alaric seems to have mobilized in the nearby area. At the end, a ryjin legion is the last part of the parade, an obvious move to display military dominance.
After the parade is a circus whom most people attend. While the performances are quite impressive, the spies use the time to talk to attendees of the gala to attempt to discover more leads and information to achieve their goal. They discover at the end that the circus people are being instructed to leave the city before the evening.
A tourney is next after the circus where many nobles compete in melee, jousting and wrestling. Chagatai attends, but after losing a wrestling match to Alaric is silently chased away by guards. The only match that ends in a draw is the jousting competition between Annabelle Keserian and Alaric.
During the end of the tourney, Annabelle leaves the gala, the spies talk with her and learn that she has to return home to deal with some administrative difficulties in Kerzburg. After they talk to her, they shuffle along to the art exhibit.
During the art exhibit, Klaasje and Waltuh snuck away while Jessie remained and talked to a couple different nobles, including the Vespatians.
Waltuh and Klaasje break in badly to the castle of the Vespatians and begins gathering information and evidence.
Jessie gets closer to Markus and learns some information about the state of Gelim from him, but a somewhat ominous feeling persists and she has her suspicions about him.
Waltuh and Klaasje manage to take several documents from a planning room and from Hugo's own room, but barely escape as Hugo enters while they are there.
During their infiltration mission, they feel like they are not alone, hearing footsteps where nobody is, but they are never able to confirm anything.
The spies reuinite during the dance as Klaasje and Waltuh barely escape the castle unseen.
After the dance, everyone is directed to the dining hall where a great feast will take place along with some musical performances. The spies attend and Jessie gets a seat next to Markus while Jessie and Waltuh sit down with the other nobles and invited officials.
The spies get an ominous feeling about the dinner and Klaasje attempts to exit the dining hall, but is stopped by soldiers under the guise of a speech to be delivered soon. This ends up being half true, as Alaric gives a speech, followed by soldiers rushing into the room and several deaths taking place.
Jessie, having talked to Markus a lot, manages to have her reach met by his hand. All the pieces falling into place, she unleashes her secret weapon and stabs Marcus with her hidden poisoned blade. Markus stabs Jessie in the chest, but after that, he falls over in unmanageable pain.
After a small fight, Klaasje and Jessie lose their lives. Waltuh is about to lose his aswell, but Chagatai breaks through the main door with an ogre and starts fighting the Vespatian troops and nobility.
After Chagatai's distraction, Waltuh escapes the dining hall alone, but bumps into Oda on his way out. Oda covers his escape as Waltuh books it out of the castle at speeds people should not be able to achieve.
Waltuh Hwite escapes Kessel and begins breaking for the border with The Empire of The Storm.
