The Lonely Mountain
"This mountain is cursed. There is nothing more to it. If you manage to survive the draconids that will stop you getting to their holy grounds, you will die from the mountain"- Umignolim Cragmaker, dwarven carthographer
Standing tall in the middle of the plains, the lonely mountain's origin is unknown. Is it an extinct volcano? Was it somehow part of the Mahakam Mountains? No one knows... However, what is known is that a terrible creature inhabits it.
The lonely mountain's surroundings are not inhabited by any humans, due to the wastelands surrounding it up to the Mahakam mountains, but many tribes of draconids such as dragonborn and lizardmen made their home around the mysterious warmth that the mountain exerts. The only village in the region at the very limit of the wastelands is said to be inhabited by men that venerate a local deity, but their xenophobia has prevented more investigation.

Geography
The lonely mountain is a tall peak in the middle of a barren and charred wasteland, its peak reaching an estimated height of almost 5000 feet (1500 meters), though no geographer has ever come back from his expedition. Its shape does not suggest an extinct or active volcano, though the heat it radiates can be felt from miles away, especially in the last century. Its steep cliffs make climbing difficult and dangerous, though it does have multiple plateaus with even water on some, leading sometimes deep into the mountain.
Fauna & Flora
The mountain and its surroundings are bare, burned down by the draconid tribes or some other entity. This makes flora very rare, but the mountain itself seems almost untouched. This means that shrubbery and grass does grow on the lower altitudes. some shrub and grass that regrow quickly also invade the rest of the wastelands
As to fauna, the only species that take advantage of this wasteland ore the draconid tribes and their prey. Not many more animals and beast live there, though you may find some sheep grasing near Mahakam Mountains in summer from some dwarven farmers or dragonborn.

No natural resources can be taken advantage of, but it is believed that many mining riches reside inside the mountain.
