Hollowfire Demon

"Amidst the dark reaches of a giant library, there is not a light in sight at this time of night, except one. A figure made of flame sits patiently, reading book after book in hunt for something. Illuminating its own surroundings, the spectral figure, engrossed in its studies, stays in that very spot for hours to come."

Spawned out of a primordial well of souls, Hollowfire Demons are known for their intelligence, usually becoming mages or scholars for whichever group they ultimately serve. They are naturally gifted in magic, making them effective on the battlefield, the sight of a Hollowfire in the backlines will often invoke dread into any attacker.
Not much is known about their origins, other than being spawned out of the primordial Well of Souls, in the ash covered reaches of the south. Their link with the spiritual through their birth gives their appearance very little concrete consistency.
Almost possessing a natural curiosity, many Hollowfires are drawn towards the spiritual and magical as they begin studies, practices that may be frowned upon, depending on who their lords are.
After a hundred or so years, they will burn out and return to their birthplace to be born anew.
