Gloomglow Lamia
Basic Information
Anatomy
A giant lamia, lower-body snake, upper-body human. The scales of the lower half have a slimy texture.
Ecology and Habitats
The glowing blue fungi spotted along the stone floors of the caverns are useful for the lamia, as a cut connection causes a vibration wave throughout the network of fungi, which the lamia can sense. This means if a creature were to damage one of the mushrooms, the lamia would become aware of their presence and their general direction.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Gloomglow Lamias are carnivorous and eat by hunting creatures who invade their residence. They can survive for over a month without food by curling up and hibernating; or if needed, eat the end of their own tail.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The caverns are filled with blue crystals, most containing the skeletons of creatures and humans alike. These crystals are unique to the caverns as they are made by the lamia having their prey be crystallized in the stomach. The rarity and price the crystals would sell for draw humans in to mine and collect.
