Description: Rohesiai was a royal princess of Solda in Leganti and a patron of the arts. Rohesiai is King Grismol’s Great Grandmother and due to the salacious content of this series of poems (the longest being over 2000 lines) it is rarely spoken of in the King’s court. The book contains both romantic poems and illustrations of lovemaking. The work is well known and sought after by both men and women even beyond the royal courts. It is believed to be one of the earliest examples of courtly romance that is in common circulation. There are scrolls rumoured to be found in some private collections throughout the Dragon Reaches of her earlier work as well as by other men or women yet this is known by most and can be found in numerous illustrated and plain versions with some even containing scholarly commentary. The book was collated just prior to Rohesiai’s wedding from the numerous pages and illustrations from various hanger’s on to the Solda court and courtesans. Rohesiai was known for sponsoring various artists and if it was not for this book many of these artistic illustrations would now be lost. The copies of these works obviously vary but there are several stunning copies which are highly sought after. Earlier copies are finely finished with gold and silver metalwork and gold leaf lettering and silvered metal finishes. The more notable translations in High Dragonish and High Taratin are just as ornate. There are numerous base copies that either lack the quality in their illustrations or lack them all together.
