Oak Groves
Within the Jar forest and in
isolated areas throughout
the Eorldom of Gar there
are sacred Oak groves.
These are druidic holy grounds, some
are rumoured to also have a single
large stone in the center of the grove
with oghams of great power.
These are the holy shrines to Hyandis the great Protector
and the consort of Beleryn. As such the Church of
Urtos supports these sites and those who worship him.
Amongst druids Hyandis is regarded as the All Father,
Warden of the Forests and, regardless of a druid's
own particular deity, they all observe the worship of
Hyandis. Hyandis’ priests are always regarded as senior
when druids meet one another. The monoliths at the
center of the Oak groves and the many oghams carved
on them represent the druidic teachings that have been
passed down through the centuries and used to teach
novice druids.
Many of the Druids in the Eorldom of Gar are not only
followers of Hyandis but some of the highest ranking
Hyandic Druids within the Kingdom of Urtind.
