Description: Ernst Wallenstien was the Master of Arms and the teacher to the royal family of the Duchy of Maks. Wallenstien’s two volumes expand on and refer to the ‘Manual of Arms’ by Melba Alveye. Wallenstien provides explanatory treatise and weighs other motions and means and is therefore a more approachable book for those without an advanced understanding of swordplay and wrestling. This has made Wallenstien’s Codex a more often referred to work by many and preferred to the original by Alveye. Most copies of this book contain marginal writings by unknown authors.
