Bring out your Dead

611 AU, Steldag (14th day) in the First Galend of Maruth (day 104 of the year, 2nd day of Chalice in the month of the Stag Dragon Isles calendar)
  Lord Barsim asks the team to investigate a problem in Leon.
  Not much is said other than people are getting sick.
  They travel along the Leon way and stay at an Inn at the crossroads of the trail to Hadras. Nothing special nor exceptional.
  On the road the next day they meet a fellow traveler but he is going the opposite direction. He asks them, since its near to noon, if they would join him for lunch. They all agree and he heads off the trail into the woods for several hundred yards. He begins to set up a wonderous meal and engages them all in conversation. the meal continues and he provides beverages to drink. and then... The PCs wake up and its morning, they feel completely refreshed and have had a better sleep then they have had in a long time.
  Last stop before Leon was at the Lokiet Inn, a moderately nice place. They also noticed a person sitting at a table and began to talk and realized they had a new member in their party.
  With their new addition they continued on their way to Leon. At the gate they are met by Guards who suggested they not enter the town. When pushed the PCs state they are not worried about the sickness and that they are here at Eorl Barsim's request. Unphased the guards still refuse entry.
  Gwen decides to sleep both of them and they continue their way into the town.
  Gwen continues to the College of Light and to speak with her Principal Baldric Hahn while the others continue to a bar that Clodagh has recommended.
  At the Hangman's Noose Clodagh introduces Llied to someone who has access to the 'Black Market'. After introductions they continue off to the martket and make some deals. Not the least of which is a somewhat shady exchange of an 'artifact' that Clodagh has and sells to the market owner.
  Gwen meets them back at the bar and has some recommendations on where/how they can help our the town. There is an abandoned village on the Mil Estuary that might hold some clues.
  After securing some horses from the local Order of the Dragon they all travel quickly to the ancestral seat of Clan Welkan at Caer Welkan. The following day they move on to an outlaying village and then continue to the shores of the Mil Estuary.
  After traveling for most of the day the PCs crest a ridge and see the 'abandoned Manor House' they see quickly that it is guarded. Gwen uses her ability to become invisible to sneak up on the house and do a quick look around. She does not enter the house proper. The PCs wait for darkness and sneak up on the manor house. During this time Gwen also notices the purple flowers that grew at the house in the swamp. they pick several bags of these flowers but also continue to sneak up on the house.
  Once at the doors to the Manor house they see two guards walking around the corner. They are challenged and attacked by the guards. Gwen is invisible and was already opening the door so continues into the house along with Uoret and Flarty. Llied and Clodagh stay outside and try to subdue the guards. This outdoors battle continues for several rounds before they get the better of the guards.
  Inside the house Uoret and Flarty deal with the people with Gwen lending the odd Sleep spell. The main room of the house has large tables with various flasks and bottles and large jars. This is a lab where they are making some kind of powder. In addition they have some small vials of purple liquid. Gwen determines that these must be antidotes for the disease that is threatening Leon. She scoops up the vials. Clodagh volunteers to burn up the rest of the lab. But not until they have continued to investigate the building.
  Once this is completed they continue to look in the house and discover several chambers in the basement. There is a stout door with a complex lock. Llied uses here skills as a locksmith to 'open' the first door. Behind it are two Wraiths who immediately attack the party.
  The Wraiths are dispatched and then there is another door. Llied once again is able to open the lock. However behind this door is a much more powerful ghost like entity who immediately causes the whole party to freeze in 'Fright'. There is one exception, and that is Gwen. Gwen then begins to send spell after spell of lightning bolts from her fingers and the apparition is sent back to where ever it emerged from but it also exhausts Gwen who collapses to the floor. Eventually the PCs overcome their fear and investigate the chamber. They see a sarcophagus with a heavy stone lid. After removing the lid they see a set of chainmail, a large sword and a dirk. All of which are very ornate and marked with Clan markings. No one recognizes the Clan name though. They find several gems and lots of coins as well.
  Clodagh sets the place on fire, very well and as they retreat across the hills the fire can be seen for quite a distance.
