Chapter 3: War

Plot points/Scenes

As the party regrouped and dropped off their loot in Boshton they used their final plane shift charge to travel to the Path of Water . When they arrived however they found themselves instead on the Path of the Tempest. Fortuna had derailed their passage to give them help. She found out about the group's efforts and considered them worthy of her aid. She assigned Diaz to help them. After his death, due to his devotion, Diaz's soul was brought to the Path of the Tempest to serve as Fortuna's loyal followers.
Reunited once again the group set off for the Path of War . When they arrived they found themselves on the outskirts of a besieged castle surrounded by zombies. They learned about the rules for the Path of War and planned on how to enter the castle and get by the zombies. Utilizing the gifts given to them by the delegation the group summoned their animal mounts and Bosh's armored war hippo made quick work of clearing a path through the zombies. They easily reached the castle gate and made it inside with no trouble.
At the top of the castle tower they found the champions for this level of the path. After a quick fight the group defeated their foes and traveled to the next level. Here they found themselves on the deck of a ship amid a large battle. hundreds of soldiers fought while a few ascendants battled it out. The battle turned dire after Bosh tackled one the ascendant mages overboard and dragged her down to the ocean depths. This left Tua , badly wounded, to fight nearly alone against the remaining foes. As Diaz and Ulysses made their way toward the fight Tua was able to escape and used magnificent dolphin diving moved to shoot darts at his foes. Though the battle was difficult the party was able to succeed in defeating the champions of the second level of the Path of War. The traveled to the next level and found themselves at the top of a volcano with a large group of ascendants fighting below. Wounded they decided to attempt a short rest while the two groups fought.
