Fortuna seeks to grow more powerful by having her followers explore the world causing more to know her. She guides ships safely to new shores and back home so as to increase their fortunes and hers as well. She sees her followers as an extension of her will.

During the age of heroes it is said that a famous sea pirate grew so infamous a cult grew around her. as this cult grew she eventually was challenged by the sea god Poseidon. It is said this pirate defeated the old god and proclaimed herself Fortuna a god for all sailors and traders.
