Octavianus is an interesting case and a sticking point in the Imperial line of succession. Appointed by Laetoria, Octavianus was a scholar and actor, and most importantly for the sake of contention, her son. This is the first and only instance of a hereditary succession in the history of the empire. A revolt occurred in protest, and was quickly quelled by the Legatus of Lorica, Lucius Caesius Zoilus, whom Octavianus surrendered the position to in writing, discovered when the Legatus reported to the imperial throne room, finding Octavianus dead of a draught of poison.

18 Atilius Rebellionis

The Atilius Rebellionis is revered as one of the greatest generals and emperors that Lorica has ever produced. Leaning into the popular nickname for his uncouth ascension to the throne, Lucius utilized this renown to reform the empire from the ground up in a revival of classical imperialism.

The current emperor and regent of the empire, Lorinicus is a tactical genius both in warfare and politics, working directly with his diplomats and the diplomatic nobels of other countries within his borders in order to forge trade deals and working to consolidate the power of the empire in preparation for another expansion.
