The Hive

The Hive - Cities Ain
Tall, Brass Statues with pulsating sigils where a face should be. Wires pulled through the gaps in joints, scratches where metal meets metal with hands larger than most men's faces. The Hive were the cities watch dogs, keeping it's parts moving and those within it's walls relatively content. Now they stand guard, mostly unknown by the populace as anything more than decoration. They still watch.
The Hive were made by one Dane Kenseek who swore he was told to create them by the Gods. They were created Pre-locking with the goal to manage the Cities already complex Transport systems and act as a mixture of guides, delivery units and basic maintenance.
When The Lock-in happened The Hive continued to work on their usual tasks but as more and more people got brought in and the City started to panic having worries over power supply and how long it would last, Darius decided to slowly begin turning them off leaving them as statues taking most of them to different Sites in the undercity tunnels. The last known adjustments that were made to the Hives code kept them in dormant states where ever they may be unless reactivated by Darius' password.
In modern day Envy most of its occupants are unaware of The Hives original purpose knowing them only in their statuesque form. Those who know they're more animated versions are spilt with their real purpose being muddled. Some believe they control the City being responsible for the Lock in. Others think they are a kind of mass private surveillance, gathering information for some unknown group. Few of their undercity sites have been found and those that have have been raided thoroughly with different Hive members being dismantled to be recreated by others. Very few have found out the original creator and currently no one knows how they can be made active, where Darius is and what his goals currently are.
Perk Examples
    • Self Made - Being a Bot you know tech and you know yourself. Modifications made to your own body have a +1 to their CV.

    • 2nd Eyes - You can look through another Hive members eyes. You cannot see or hear your own surroundings while doing this but you can still move. Their might not always be a Hive Member where you want to look and they might not be able to move themselves.
    • Hive Minded - You can try to recall information you weren't there for with an Intelligence and Investigation + 4 check. This roll gets a -2 for each time its tried in a day.
    • Internal GPS - You can never get lost and can navigate around winding city streets with ease. You are x2 faster at getting around Cities and Towns than Regular People.
    • Outdated Model - You might recognise old objects being able to date them within 5 years and their origin within 10 years. An Intelligence and Either Investigation, Nature or Religion check - Depending on the item - can be made to also figure out who made the item and exactly where and when.
