Ĉhawwkatak

The Ĉhawwkatak, more commonly referred as Draconidae, are very diverse individuals and are thus sorted into three large subfamilies: those of the stone forests, those of the plains, and those of the mountains. While their size varies greatly depending on the species and the specimen's age, the way they are perceived does change a lot too.

It is not uncommon to come across forest draconids in the wild or as exotic pets; it should be noted, however, that among the Ĉhawwkatak, they are considered the most bestial, incapable of taming their instincts. Their cousins, the mountain draconids, are much more imposing beings whose aura and presence force and inspire respect. It's impossible to tame them, and only an entity of equal strength can dream of competing with them.

Description

Stone forest

In these stone forests can be found the Wyverns, equipped with extremely sharp fangs; the Cockatrices, a dwarf species of Wyvern gifted with sharp wings; and Hydras, a species that draws its strength from being attacked and whose heads can regenerate. As for size , Wyverns measure generally around 30cm at birth while Cockatrices start at half that size ,standing at a mere 10 to 15cm. They grow respectively to an average of 10m with a 15m wingspan and for the latter, up to 5m with a 5 to 7m wingspan. The average size for Hydras has never been decided among scientists as Hydras will grow only when attacked, although the largest individual was recorded to be as tall as 20m.

Plains

The Ĉhawwkatak of the plains, such as the seas or the grasslands, include the Sea Serpents, at the origin of tsunamis and tides who have, for the best ones, learned to control lightning; Drakes are particularly fond of hot areas such as hot springs or around volcanoes, whether dormant or not; the Lòng Dragons are extremely light and appreciate the large size of the sky, where they are generally found. These three ethnic groups of draconids are relatively common. Regarding size, it's actually unclear how big Sea Serpents grow once they outgrow their infant length of at least 6,5m. Despite adults being average sized for this family at only 20m in length, Drakes are extremely heavy, much more than any other draconidae. With 50 to 60cm long newborns weighing as much as cotton and feathers, Lòng dragons only grow to 15 to 20m on average, with the oldest individuals reaching around 100m for approximately 5m of girth.

Among this family, we also find Ĉhawwkatak more renowned for their wisdom, and rarer to see; including the Lindwurms, spiritual draconids whose different perception of time, asynchronous to that of the other species, makes them more mentally unstable. Wyrms grow underground until their reach their fertility and their genetic code declines, after which they migrate to the mountains; similarly, young Quetzalcoatls can be seen on the plains before they reach maturity and also migrate to the mountains. Size-wise, newborn Lindwurms measure about 30cm, grow on average to be 20m while oldest individuals go as far as 50m, placing them as second longest draconids of this family. Then stand Wyrms, with a size of 5cm at birth. Quetzalcoatls have no recorded average, for their size varies too much in their youngest years prior to migration.

Mountains

The mountains where the Quetzalcoatls and Wyrms migrate are the domain of extremely rare draconids to see, mythical creatures that have evolved differently and are the only draconids to have access to the spiritual plane. Adult Quetzalcoatls thus influence the winds, but also the arts, trade and commerce. The Wyrms found there have the particularity of being all albino due to a genetic failure; while the Dragons, fewer in number, are renowned for their wealth, both physical and metaphysical (culture, knowledge, etc.). Wyrms who have migrated measure on average 30m in size, reaching 50m in their oldest years. In stark difference, Dragons already stand at 1 to 2m at birth, rapidly growing to an average of 95m for 130m of wingpsan, and at best, 450m and a wingspan of 500m.

Those who inspired the name of the Ĉhawwkatak are the Salamanders, the original fire-breathers that are found in large numbers in hot but also glacial environments and whose size varies greatly. The guardians of the spiritual passages whose mystical presence imposes a silence filled with respect are none other than the Kirins, few can boast of having injured one, for the cost of such an act is extremely high. Finally, of unparalleled rarity, even for all draconids, the Amphithere, whose wings can darken an entire country by their size. The size of newborn Amphiteres hasn't been recorded, but the smallest individuals already measure up to 1km, while the largest - and oldest - ones display a massive size of 2 to 3km of length for a wingspan of up to an astounding 10km. Just beside them in size, Kirins who range anywhere between 1,30m and 3,5m at shoulder height. Lastly, Salamanders are the smallest of them, going from 10cm to 100m of length
