The Courtly Language of Colors and Gems
Where this is power, there is a message, and in the courts of the Engarlands, jewelry and attire are a way of sending that message to those keen and canny enough to look for it. Amongst the rising courtier, sycophants, and social predators, a choice of attire can say a great deal. Colors can display emotion or intent, and with the proper context will present a message, especially when mixed with the Jewlery someone might be wearing to provide that context.
