Ordellien

The continent of Ordellien is located in the East of the World. It is a place of conflict far more so than the rest of the world. It is a long, narrow continent with most nations having some coastal border to the Estebien Ocean, and the Dragonspeak Mountains looming above them to the east, beyond which lies the terrible Sea of Monsters. The majority of the population is human and dwarves, with a significant minority of orcs. Elves, drow, and halflings are rare in these parts.
Low Magic Continent
Magic is rarer and more dangerous here. People capable of casting spells only make up about 2% of the entire population, if even that. Mages capable of wielding magic beyond 5th level are extremely rare, and are viewed as very dangerous. This is because casting spells of above 5th level is a volatile risk, triggering a wild magic surge whenever this happens.
A Land of Conflict
Ordellien is not plentiful in its bounty. While mineral rich, the continent is lacking in vast amounts of fertile land. This leads to conflicts between the various small nations over territory for growing food, the metals for making instruments of war, or the gold and gems needed to buy imports from Vardell.
