Zyx
Magical Race Template
After a certain period of exposure to magic, any race gains an affinity for it. Gaining control over such power comes at a cost. Deformities and weakened body are common side effects of overuse.
This racial template can be applied to any species. Zyx as a name are referred to colloqually as a prefix to their original species, ex. Zyx Nuxawi. The template adds several traits and attribute modifers to its base species.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
Chaos Unleashed: Whenever a Zyx would roll on a random effect table, they roll twice and both effects occur.
Frailty: With the great power coursing through your veins, your muscles weaken and become frail. A Zyx's Strength and Endurance is always lowered equal to half their Magic. Each time their maximum hitpoints would increase, it increases by one less.
Magical Creature: Zyx gain the magical subtype in addition to any subtypes of their base race.
Magically Imbued: Magic flows through the Zyx like no other as they are partly magic in itself. They have 50% more mana. This ability does not stack with Mana Pools.
Magical Leakage: Upon reaching each quarter of their hitpoints in damage, the Zyx rolls on the random magical effect table. If a spell were to be cast, a random spell the Zyx knows is cast with the Zyx being the point of origin.
Mixed Bodily Chemicals: Zyx lose all resistances/immunities that their base race provides and have instead a +75 Resistance(Magic), +1 Resistance(Cold) and a +1 Resistance(Heat).
Technologically Inept: The innate magic in Zyx contest greatly with any technological influence. They have -100 in Mechanical Riding, Firearms, Energy Weapons, Technology, Craft(Technology) and Energy Shield. A Zyx cannot put skill points in any of these skills or their branches.
