Basic Information

Anatomy

This race looks entirely like sentient plants. They are completely covered in short spiny needles with two long black eyes and a jagged mouth. They have two longer branches with opposable hands at the end of each side that sprout from their midsection. Four short forked branches function as legs for the Himmoch. Coniferous are a sharp and pointed subtype.

Biological Traits

False Disguise, Coniferous: While motionless gains +50 Hide while standing among coniferous trees unarmored. They gain +12 Hide instead while standing among deciduous trees unarmored   Fiery Origins: The dousing of flame at birth provides the Coniferous Himmoch with a natural fire resistance. They gain a +25 Resistance(Fire).   Lumbering: Due to a tree’s large and hulking stature, stealth is harder to accomplish. They have -20 to Move Silently rolls.   Militant Tendencies: Coniferous Himmoch have an instinctive military loyalty from birth. They are natural soldiers. They gain a +8 Etiquette(Military) and +8 Melee skill. Their loyalty is also unmatched, they gain +8 on saves when it contradicts orders or would have them harm an ally. As well as +3 per rank below to Leadership rolls when commanding other Coniferous Himmoch of a lower rank.   Tundra Native: Being native to the tundra grants +25 Resistance(Frost) & being immune to effects due to cold weather.   Tundra Heritage: Being native to the arctic tundra gives +8 Survival(Frozen).   Regional Appearance: Himmoch take the form of a common native foliage of their birth region. If there is no native foliage of their type, take nearest native foliage in next region over. They do not gain any of the special properties of that species of plant. (ie. a Healing leaf or, a sap useful in poisons…) They gain an additional +25 to Hide among the chosen species.   Spiked: Whenever a Coniferous Himmoch is subjected to an attack by a natural weapon, the attacker must make a dodge check versus a DC 50 or take 4 Piercing damage.   Sturdy Bark Hide: Due to a Himmoch’s sturdy bark, they are always considered to be wearing Cured Wood Armor. If the Himmoch equips any other armor, this natural armor is ignored. This armor does not impede any ability that requires the Himmoch to be unarmored.   Wooden: Himmoch are the Plant subtype instead of the Flesh subtype. They gain +50 on Swim checks from natural buoyancy.

Genetics and Reproduction

The Coniferous variety of Himmoch reproduce asexually by laying spikey resilient eggs. The eggs when planted in soil and bathed in fire sprout into new Himmoch.

Growth Rate & Stages

The Coniferous variety of Himmochs grow slowly, they reach adulthood within 30-40 years of growth.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Himmoch's gather sustenance through the process of photosynthesis and need to root into soil each night in order to absorb water and other nutrients.

Biological Cycle

Unlike the other varieties of Himmoch, Coniferous Himmoch never lose their needles.
