Emergency Protection Beacon
This small handheld device or cybernetic implant activates with a dazzling flash, an ear-splitting alarm, and a protective forcefield around the user. It includes five detachable transmitters that rapidly beep when triggered. Upon activation, it emits bright light in a 30-meter radius, forcing any creature looking directly at the user to make a simple Fortitude check or be blinded for 1d4 rounds. The alarm is audible within 2 kilometers, and creatures within 10 meters must make an easy Fortitude check or be deafened for the duration of the sound or until they leave the area. The nearly skin-tight forcefield provides 100 hit points and Damage Reduction 30 against Electric. While active, the user is completely immobilized and unable to perform any actions. If implanted as a cybernetic component, the device activates automatically when the user falls unconscious; otherwise, it requires a minor action to activate or deactivate. Once triggered, the beacon lasts for 1d4+4 hours and can only be deactivated externally with a hard Knowledge (Original Technology) check. After use, the device requires 1d2 days to recharge before it can be activated again.
