Celdarr

Basic Information

Anatomy

Celdarri are a striking race of exoskeletal humanoids, instantly recognizable by their unique and alien features. Towering, almond-shaped emerald green eyes dominate their angular faces, emitting a faint, ethereal glow that shifts subtly with their emotions. Their exoskeleton, both a natural armor and a defining characteristic, forces their jaws into a fixed, jagged-toothed grin, lending them an eerie, predatory air. Instead of a nose, they breathe through narrow slits between their sharp teeth, creating a faint, whistling sound with each breath. This adaptation, though unsettling to outsiders, is entirely natural to the Celdarri, who have honed it for efficient oxygen intake.Atop their heads, bony spikes emerge and grow in clusters, mimicking the appearance of hair. These spikes vary in length and pattern, often reflecting individual age, status, or lineage within their culture. Their exoskeleton ranges in hues from pale bone to deep obsidian, often adorned with natural ridges and intricate patterns that serve as both aesthetic markers and a record of their life's trials and achievements.

Biological Traits

Anosmia: Celdarr do not have a nose, therefore they have no sense of smell. However because of this, their other senses make up for the lost sense. They are unaffected by any effects caused by smells.   Expressive: Without facial expressions being overly expressive with their arms allow the Celdarr to more easily communicate. When a Celdarr’s limbs are immobilized or restrained, they gain a -5 to Charisma.   Improved Grapple: Having multiple arms gives an advantage while in a grapple. A Celdarr adds one additional success when making a grapple. Once in the grapple, a Celdarr can use his first roll to combat attempts to escape in place of rolling another check. Celdarr can attack with up to all of its arms in a grapple; only the penalty for dual-wielding applies, multiarmed does not go into effect.   Luminescent Eyes: The Celdarr have naturally luminecent eyes. The glow gives a 2m radius of low light and a 5m radius of dark light levels.   Reaper’s Grin: Due to their haunting grin that is locked in place, creatures are generally more fearful of the Celdarr. When their grin is not covered, they gain +12 to Intimidate and -12 to Diplomacy. This effect is negated when the grin is covered.   The Fourth Arm: When an opponent is rolling on the limb table to hit the Celdarr, a 5-12 hits the lower arms. Each arm has its own health as stated by the chart for limb health. Celdarr reduce the penalty for holding multiple weapons or support items by one category.   Weak Jaw Joint: The joint in a Celdarr skull connecting the jaw to the cranium is a weak point in their anatomy. When rolling on the head destruction table, Celdarr have a -10 to their roll.

Genetics and Reproduction

Sexual, gives birth to larva.

Growth Rate & Stages

The larva undergoes remarkable growth, expanding to six times its original size over the span of five years. Once it reaches this stage, it encases itself in an egg-like shell, where it remains for approximately three and a half months. Upon hatching, the creature emerges with the fully developed body of an adult but retains the cognitive and emotional mindset of a five-year-old.

Behaviour

The Celdarri have inspired chilling legends of jungle demons, leading to widespread fear and misunderstanding among outsiders. As a result, they often conceal their faces when venturing into foreign cities to prevent alarming incidents or confrontations. Their inability to display varied facial expressions is counterbalanced by their exceptionally exaggerated mannerisms, allowing them to convey emotions and intentions in a vivid and unmistakable way.
