This jovial and lovable human tavernkeeper is middle-aged, a good part of his hair turned grey. He is of average build and hight, with a friendly face and at all times a pristinely white apron. He always greets every customer in their native tongue, though does not seem to know more then a few words in any language except common. He is the owner of The Sleepy Squirrel, named after his pet squirrel Oscar - which is often not sleepy at all but happily climbing around in the rafters of the building, dangling from chandeliers or entertaining children with his antics.
If asked about his past, he claims to have been born the son of an average merchant in Odiso (Half true, it was Torindach) and spent his life working in the family buisiness, occasionally travelling with ships and caravans to discuss contracts until his father died, leaving the business to him and his brother. He took his part of the inheritance, came here and opened the tavern.

He does in fact speak many humanoid languages and a few others besides. In truth, he is a highly educated former wizard (divination school) who spent decades studying since a very young age, when his talent was discovered. He was soon recruited as a spy (3 levels assasin rogue), first inside the academy and then also for assignments abroad, until he decided he wanted out, faked his own death and came to Caeldun via Westpoint, where he bought the tavern.

Motivation
Tristan wishes to escape his past and live a comfortable life as Charlie. He worries in hindsight that the things he did were bad and many of his assignments may not have been what they seemed. He now tries to make up for them in small ways by surreptitiously helping people and sometimes sending anonymous tips to law enforcement, but never at the risk of exposing himself.
