Olhwa Star Shower
The stars fell in the distance as everyone watched. Inarora was across from Kaedan, viewing the star shower through the school telescope. It was a sight to behold, and he wished he owned a better camera to get photos of the sky. As the stars waned through the sky, however, Kaedan realized something: his surroundings were melting away. It occured to him before much else happened that he was the one receiving the omen.
An Olhwa Star Shower only happens when the gods decide there is an omen to send. It is said the Star Shower of '13 will bring an omen upon Enaros,

.which coincides with about the time that Inarora has a public meltdown with their powers and nearly sends their cousin to the hospital.
Although an omen is something typically negative, the past few ones have been positive and have led to positive changes. Thus, it has become a sight to see with excitement. Granted, not everyone will know the omen depending on the situation and who it's about, and thus can enjoy the view in blissful ignorance.
There is a person who will receive the omen, typically in the same place as the omen takes place. No one is certain who receives it, or how.

However, in book 3, it is said that Kaedan receives the omen himself, which somehow also unlocks his ability to read auras.
Although the shower periods can be explained by science, as it occurs every 30-50 years, there are no such things as coincidences given every single one lined up with an omen. Explain that one, science! That's right: it's the gods intervening, as they should.
Most places will be going lights-out as much as possible in order to see it. Granted, light pollution is not as common in most Enarian countries, except for Xawhen Trine, Naa'ran, and parts of Xinghong, Hoseki, and Diaxacabard. There are places that will remain lit up, but the majority of the cities it can be seen in ask those who do not need the lights to turn them off to help those who wish to see the star shower.
Manifestation
Shooting stars from the nearby asteroid belt, bringing about a shower of not only meteorites, but a beautiful shower of blues and greens, although sometimes with reds and purples in the mix as well. It is said these colors are ions of different elements being excited by the meteorites burning up. It is an amazing sight.
