Dōma
Properties
Material Characteristics
In plant form, it's about as thick as an adult elf khargian's hand and purple in color. Its sheath is rather smooth. As a wood, it has uniform texture, thanks to it's ability to grow and mature quickly leaving little room for rings to develop.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Dōma is one of the fastest growing plants on Enaros, making it a highly renewable resource and very much favored material. It also makes a very unique sound, sought out by flutists across the world.
As wood, it's relatively smooth, but just like any other wood, can produce splinters. As an edible plant, it must be cooked before eating as it possesses dangerous compounds that could kill an individual. Cooked dōma is crisp and sweet, described by the original Earth migrants as almost like an apple with honey.

Geology & Geography
Dōma is typically found in Hoseki, Xinghong, Jiyeog, parts of western Vininsia, north-western parts of the Kiduli Islands.
History & Usage
History
The history of Far Eastern countries planting and cultivating dōma can be traced back to the ancient kingdoms. It's been used since the beginning of these civilizations for food, clothing, and building materials for not only homes, but instruments as well. It was favored for making the Hosekian wood flute, the shin'riyan.
When humans arrived and were introduced to it, they equated dōma to bamboo. Which isn't entirely a wrong comparison, but native Enarians have no idea what bamboo is.
Everyday use
Dōma is useful throughout its entire lifespan. Commonly, it's used for wood and paper, but the plant itself is used for food as well. In Inarora's Excursion, Inarora describes her grandfather having replaced the old flooring with dōma wood.
Cultural Significance and Usage
Dōma symbolizes moral integrity and resistance. Many Xinghongese, Jiyeogese, and Hosekians are reminded they can get through tough times, just like dōma.

Hmmm, seems a bit Bamboo-like, which does beg the question... are there pandas (or at least panda equivalents)?
