Lord Véridice Lyrienne

Summary

A character in Book 1: Rituals of Blood and Power. He is the Lord of one of the two most ancient and important Estates in the empire, the Estate of Lyrienne. He is the Lord of the Dark, the leader of the Dark political faction. He is a bitter enemy of the Lord of the Light, Lord-Consul Xénophène Ylucianie. Despite the previous friendship of his House with the House of Alyssenne, he has killed Lord Justinien Alyssenne and Lady-Consort Léonie Alyssenne. It is well known in the empire that he is attempting to finish destroying the House of Alyssenne by killing Lady Annabelle Alyssenne. His father died when he was young and he grew up in an orphanage in the Estate of Arianie. When he discovered his inheritance, he had to carry a bloody fight to reconquer his Estate and re-establish the supremacy of his House. His story is well known in the empire and fills people with a mixture of fear and admiration.
