Lord Cedric Godwyn
The current ruler of Farmoore, Lord Cedric Godwyn, is a man of practicality and good management. He came to power 6 years after the unification of Noreia and has ruled for 20 years. His rule started off very good. While Farmoore has never struggled financially or with resources, Lord Godwyn took it to new heights. He was able to expedite the agricultural trade and created an economic boom within Farmoore.
This prosperity convinced Lord Godwyn to go even further and he started to change the agricultural systems to a more industrialized process than the centuries-old techniques the people of Farmoore are used to. This started to create tension between him and the local populace as they are rooted in tradition because that's all they've known for centuries and didn't see a need to change it. Likewise, the economic boom started to slow and was only being felt at Golden Cross, creating more tension and economic disparity between him and the rural populace. Despite his practical policies, the local perception of Lord Godwyn turned negative due to the unequal distribution of benefits and the perceived imposition of change.
As discontent grew, Lord Godwyn shifted away from the public spotlight and began working more through his council members. The council members desired a more collaborative approach to governance, while Lord Godwyn's actions seemed to lean towards a more dictatorial style. The tension between Lord Godwyn's withdrawn leadership and the council members' desire for collaboration created internal conflicts within the governance structure. Over the years, Lord Godwyn has become more shrewd and withdrawn due to the persistently negative public perception despite his practical policies.
